Scriptures About Arguing
Comentary:
It is so hard today to know how to act because to follow Christ we are to be meek and humble. And yet, we can't simply stand by and let people slander the word of God. I guess the best way to discern is to do what Jesus did. It seems to me that whenever anyone slandered Jesus himself, he simply did not reply. But, whenever they asked him who he was or slandered God he made sure to speak the truth of himself or to correct any folly with accurate relaying of scriptures. So if someone says to me "you are an idiot for what you believe" I should say nothing. But if they ask me what I believe I should of course explain my belief. Should they slander God, Jesus, or the Holy Spirit I would have to reply with the scripture that proves the truth without taking an offensive tone. If the misrepresentation of the word does not have to do with sinning like "a belief about what heaven looks like" or "cross verses stake" or "eat this don’t eat that" or "worship only on Saturday or Sunday" I would follow Paul’s direction to do what is best displaying of love... If a friend believes he should only eat fish on Friday....then if I eat with him on Friday I will have fish so as to not throw a stumbling block at him. If a coworker believes that one should not eat pork... then I will not eat pork in front of him so as to not throw a stumbling block at him. If a person is worshiping on Saturday and I happen to believe that they should worship on Sunday I will keep my mouth shut because as long as he worships he does good. But, if a man tells me that Jesus is not the Son of God then I must speak up and relay the scriptures that show that he is without being angry or condemning in any way. What I have experienced a lot is people wanting to argue over things that believing one way or the other on them is not a sin. These things I categorize as “disputable matters” and will not even debate, I have much bigger issues than weather Jesus was crucified on a cross or a stake… Like stopping myself from sinning in anger, or in pride not for salvations sake but rather because I hate when I do it. Love and peace to you all ~ have a great weekend…. I welcome any back comments on my commentaries. I don’t profess to be a smart guy or very learned in the ways of God. If I ever say anything that strikes you as wrong please please share with me… Steel sharpens steel and I want to be sharpened because I am not the sharpest tool in the shed…lol Just ask My Wife…. :)
