Sword of The Word - Malice
Comentary:
Malice consists of many things that we would not at first label as such. We all know that scheming against someone is malice. But also it is malice to look upon someone else’s Life with desire to have any of that person’s possession. Malice also comes in the form of angry driving and road rage. Malice also comes in the form of inter office politics. Malice rears its ugly head in many places. So how do we stop these sorts of feelings from manifesting in us? Most importantly we have to give our life over to Jesus. What that means is to truly die to self and live for others. Does this mean you should live a poor life? No. However we have to ask ourselves, when is enough, enough? Once we realize that our sins are forgiven and we learn from the Holy Spirit how to live in Him and Him in us. We are saved and no longer guilty of repented sins, those confessed to God and asked for forgiveness. This is why it is so important to forgive others. I would think that Matthew 5:14-15 “14 For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.” This to me does not look optional. But the cool thing is that it is not us that will be doing good loving deeds like forgiving. It will be a natural response to having the Spirit of the Lord in us. Malice comes from our emotional response to wanting something we do not have. It is so common to all people just in different areas and with different motivations. Malice can even spring up between pastors, apologetics, and evangelists. In fact, it even sprung up between the disciples in Luke 9:26-48 ” 46 An argument started among the disciples as to which of them would be the greatest. 47 Jesus, knowing their thoughts, took a little child and had him stand beside him. 48 Then he said to them,“Whoever welcomes this little child in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me. For it is the one who is least among you all who is the greatest.” Through accepting Jesus into your heart and life malice can be overcome. But on occasion when it tries to enter you only quote these verses before you allow it to enter you and the word of God will be able to prevent it.
